Okay. Now I know why people say that tetanus shots hurt. My depo arm is completely fine today.. my tetanus arm is non-functional. I can't sleep on my left side or turn over without pain. I can't lift my arm more than 45 degrees from my side without the pain stopping me. Even the jostling of non-arm-swingy walking hurts. Trying to shower and dress one-handed this morning was a trial, and by the time I got my hair dry (by bending my head down to my hand's reach) and my pants on (OW), it took me ten minutes to regroup and work on my shirt. Even when I hold carefully still with my arm in a neutral position, there's a dull, ceaseless ache that four Advil haven't touched. All from a completely painless little (or maybe not so little, I didn't look) needle. Just keeping the unseemly whimpering and swearing to a minimum has taken a good deal of effort today.
But there's not a mark, not a bump, not a single thing I can point to and say, "Doesn't that look painful?" But still. Ow.
