It has come to my attention that I have a bunch of pictures uploaded that I've never used in entries. Some fall into obvious categories, so I'll post themed entries for those, but then there's the rest...

This was the first picture I took with the s400, while geocaching (the lizard is on top of the hollow log where the first waypoint container was hidden). Click on it for the gigantic version -- it's 427K, so I'm not crazy enough to inflict it upon you, but I think it's worth it for the amazing scale detail. The small version is really quite dull by comparison.

This was an impressively camouflaged lizard at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Unfortunately I stepped on his cousin while rock-hopping a few minutes later.

.... or the cat-snakes will get you!

Bet you didn't know.

They're petite! They're petunias! They're... petitunias! Unfortunately, they didn't take off after I planted them, and the thing about them being "self-cleaning" is utter bullshit. So they kind of look like crap now.

I love variegated foliage, and Alaska nasturtiums are among my favorite plants. Taken at an exhibit in the Carlsbad Flower Fields -- they don't grow like that for me!

Strangest vending machine I've seen.

Yes, it grows on trees.
