Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show

As I did yesterday, I'll refer people on my fandom filter to my top/bottom five Doctor Who episodes and complain about how hard it is to pick just one. Voyage of the Damned may still get top billing -- it's dull and belligerent and bloated, and it's the only New Who episode I seriously couldn't get through twice. There is not a single interesting character moment, and the "904 years old" speech with the backdrop of flames and the terrible dubbing just makes me want to deny any affiliation with the show.

But Planet of the Dead is a close second in the "how can something attempting to be a spectacle be so relentlessly boring and stupid" department. If my second viewing hadn't been on the big screen at SDCC, I wouldn't have bothered. It might have been tolerable mid-season filler, but this was the only hour of Doctor Who we got between Christmas 2008 and Thanksgiving 2009.

And then we have Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks, certainly the winner for Worst Script Ever. Rather than just being a boring waste of time, it's actively dreadful. I'm not usually a stickler for realistic science on this show, but this is so bad it shatters my tolerance for nonsense. And then there's Dalek Sec, transformed into a wheezing squid in a suit. WHY.
