Well, good evening, Stella.
I got Stella partly because I hardly ever see agouti hamsters in San Diego and I really wanted one. She does not, though, really seem to be the classic shade. I can barely see her cheek flashes, and she hasn't got the cream-colored chest. Tonks, an extremely photogenic hamster who can be seen eating the baby Jesus in one of the pictures at that link, is a normal agouti. The agouti mutations page is interesting. Stella's almost yellow. The agoutis I saw (and owned) in Wisconsin were more dramatic. Which isn't to say she isn't lovely.
(But, wow, the grey agouti has to be the most beautiful coloring I've ever seen. I'd love one of those.)
